Finally a company has packaged a versatile wireless EEG brain wave system at a price everyone can afford. The company, Neurosky has been developed brain wave computer control devices since 2006.
Last year, Mattel Toy company launched a toy called Mindflex which uses an EEG sensing headset made by Neurosky. The game was so popular, they followed it up with Mindflex Duel which allows two people to complete at Mindflex simply using their thoughts.
The brain wave sensing is more than a mere toy, it is a powerful neurofeedback device that until now have been priced around a thousand dollars or more.
Mindwave has launched the Mindwave, complete with EEG headset which connects wireless to your PC or Macintosh via a wireless USB dongle which is included in the kit. Plus it is priced under a hundred bucks.
Mindwave comes with a bundle of its own software apps which include Meditation Journal, Schulte, Blinkzone, Jack’s Adventure, Mindzone and several more.
Neurosky released Mindwave complete with a software developer’s API so that they could develop a wide variety of Windows and Macintosh apps to use along with the the headset.
Software developers have responded including free apps by MyndPlay and the Adventures of Neuroboy.
Applications that we have featured that now work with the Mindwave headset include Neuro-Programmer 3 and Mind Workstation.
