FitBrains is not “just another” online brain games and mental fitness website. You will find a rich set of free resources including up-to-the-minute brain health information as well as a great group of truly fun brain games.
The folks at the Discovery Channel had this to say about Fit Brains:
“What’s unique: Complex, richly illustrated and thoughtful brain games with different levels and story lines. Summed up: Very dynamic.”
Fit Brains offers free brain games for any visitor to the site. I just tried out the featured game of the day called Paradise Island 2. The introductory screen is shown in the image below.

Although the game is running on the computer, the graphics and animation are so rich that it feels like you are playing the game off a CD-ROM rather than the web.
The featured game challenges you to find pairs of syllables that make up words in a category assigned for each session. The game starts off simple enough but if you are successful, the game takes you up a ramp of successively more difficult sessions.

If you like the style of the site and want train your brain regularly, then site membership is the way to go. The folks at Fit Brains offer a 7 day free membership so you can try the training system out and see if it is for you. If you like it then you will be able to track your progress as well as engage in brain “circuit training” with a coach.

Fit Brain is the brainstorm (no pun intended) of Dr. Paul Nussbaum, a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in brain health and studying rain aging across the human lifespan.
